Volunteers/Tutors
To end illiteracy we need your help. Your volunteer time can make a tremendous difference in the life of an adult struggling with poor reading skills. Volunteers/tutors generally spend two or four hours a week either assisting at an adult Learning Center or meeting one-on-one with an adult learner. Learning Center tutors assist adults who may be studying language (reading and writing) and/or math.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer/tutor and are curious about what the experience might involve, we suggest that you visit the on-line Verizon Literacy Campus and take the free, 45-minute course, “Orientation to Volunteering in Literacy."  You may also click here to view volunteer/tutor requirements and expectations.

The Literacy Alliance provides training and ongoing support for volunteers/tutors.

To get started, phone us at 260-426-7323, send a message to info@fwliteracyalliance.org, or register now
